Managing more than one e-mail account at a time
Microsoft Outlook Express allows you to manage multiple e-mail accounts
as though they were one account. If you have two e-mail addresses, Outlook
Express can check for new mail and download from both addresses at the
same time. One e-mail account is probably already configured for you,
but you can add as many as you'd like.
Windows
To add an e-mail account
- Click the Tools menu, then click Accounts.
- Click the Mail tab at the top of the Accounts window.
- Click Add, then click Mail in the pop-up menu.
- Follow the instructions in the Internet Connection Wizard.
- The new e-mail account will appear in the Internet Accounts window.
To edit an e-mail account
- Click the Tools menu, then click Accounts.
- Click the Mail tab at the top of the Accounts window.
- Single-click the account you want to edit, then click Properties.
- Make your changes in the Account Properties window.
- Click OK, then click Close.
To delete an e-mail account
- Click the Tools menu, then click Accounts.
- Click the Mail tab at the top of the Accounts window.
- Single-click the account you want to delete, then click Remove.
- Click Close.
Outlook Express 4 for Macintosh
To add an e-mail account
- Click the Edit menu, then click Preferences.
- Click E-mail at the left of the Preferences window under Accounts.
- Click the New Account button near the top of the window.
- Enter a name for your new account, select the type of account (POP
or IMAP), then click OK.
- Enter the new e-mail address. server information, etc. Your previous
email information is still present, and can be viewed and edited by
selecting it in the Mail Accounts: popup menu.
- Click OK when you're done.
To edit an e-mail account
- Click the Edit menu, then click Preferences.
- Click E-mail at the left of the Preferences window under Accounts.
- Select the desired account in the Mail Accounts: popup menu.
- Make whatever changes are required.
- Click OK when you're done.
To delete an e-mail account
- Click the Edit menu, then click Preferences.
- Click E-mail at the left of the Preferences window under Accounts.
- From the Mail Accounts menu at the top of the Preferences window,
select the account you want to delete. (You must have more than one
account in order to delete one.)
- Click the Remove Account button at the bottom of the Preferences
window.
- Click OK.
Outlook Express 5 for Macintosh
To add an e-mail account
- Click the Tools menu, then click Accounts.
- Click the Mail tab.
- Click New.
- Follow the instructions to set up your new mail account. Enter the
new e-mail address. server information, etc.
To edit an e-mail account
- Click the Tools menu, then click Accounts.
- Click the Mail tab.
- Double-click the account you want to edit.
- Make whatever changes are required.
- Click OK when you're done.
To delete an e-mail account
- Click the Tools menu, then click Accounts.
- Click the Mail tab.
- Click once on the account you want to delete.
- Click the Delete button.
