Deferring delivery of messages
Outlook Express provides two ways of writing messages and sending them
later. You can either save an unfinished message as a draft so that you
can edit it later before sending it, or you can compose complete messages
while off-line (while not connected to the Internet) and have Outlook
Express send them the next time you connect to the Internet.
To save an unfinished message as a draft
- Compose a message as you normally would, but don't click Send.
- Click the File menu, then click Save.
- Click the File menu again, then click Close. Your saved
file can be found in the Drafts folder.
To open and send a message saved as a draft
- Single-click the Drafts folder in the folder list.
- Double-click the message as listed in the message list pane.
- Finish writing the message, then click Send. (You can also
save it again.)
To compose messages while off-line
- Click the File menu, then click Work Offline.
- If your computer is connected to the Internet, disconnect using your
dialer software. (Refer to your Getting Started with the Sympatico Software
user guide.)
- Compose a message as described above, but don't click Send.
- Click the File menu, then click Send Later. (Just click
Send with Macintosh.)
To send message(s) composed while off-line
- Connect to the Internet, then start Outlook Express.
- Click the File menu and click to de-select Work Offline.
- Click the Send and Receive button on the toolbar to send your
message(s) and to check for new messages.
