Tutorial [ Learn about the Internet
]
How is material for the Sympatico service selected? You may be wondering how we chose the sites we're presenting to you. Our selection process is fairly simple. First, we've made a commitment to highlighting Canadian content - which is no hardship considering all the interesting things Canadians are doing on the Internet. But the Sympatico service is not limited to Canadian content only. If the site is suitable for family viewing and is interesting, informative, or wildly funny, it has a good chance of being included. If it has a good look to it, but doesn't slow down your computer with complex images or sounds, then it has an even better chance. We're not trying to be a complete Web directory, because other people have done that. We want to give you what we think is best. You could have found all of these sites yourself (if you're lucky or eat, breathe and sleep this stuff the way we do), but it would take you a very long time. Here's a list of what we look for when we assess a site.
This process is necessarily subjective. We do not knowingly link directly to any sites that would be unsuitable for family viewing. If you disagree with our choices of links, or if you think we've missed out on a site that's really good, please let us know. We do reserve the right to make the final decision on links, but we also want our members to contribute to the growth of our service. That way, the Sympatico service will truly reflect your needs.
