Internet Tutorial [ Learn about the Internet ]
Accessing an FTP site

FTP, short for file transfer protocol, is a way to retrieve individual files from sites on the Internet. If you learn of a file available by FTP, you can access it the same way you access a Web site.

Click in the Location or Address box in your browser window. Type the Internet address (ftp:// followed by the rest of the address) and press Enter/Return when you are finished.

If your Sympatico software asks how you would like to handle the file, click on Save To Disk, and choose the Name and Directory where you want to save the file.
